Waxing (Female + Male)
Finer and sparser hair growth, and less regrowth between appointments
This is because the wax removes the hair from the root, causing the hair follicle to weaken each time. On the contrary, shaving with a razor causes cutting of the hair shaft on the skin’s surface, making the hairs grow back prickly.
Gentle exfoliation
During each wax, your outermost layer of the skin is being removed along with the hairs, leaving your skin feeling much smoother and appear more brighter (removal of dull and dead skin).
Pre-care instructions
1-2 days before:
- If you are coming in for a body wax (e.g. arms or legs), gently exfoliate the area using a loofah or similar 24-48 hours prior to your appointment to remove dead skin. Exfoliating once a week is recommended to avoid ingrown hairs.
- Moisturise your skin up to the day before your appointment.
On the day:
- Do not moisturise or shave.
- Your body hairs should be about half a centimetre long.
- Wear loose and comfortable clothing to avoid any irritation from friction against your clothes.
Aftercare instruction
Your skin will be slightly sore, and there may be small bumps and redness – all of which are common and normal temporary reactions.
Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid the following for 24 hours post-wax.
Avoid:
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, swimming or exercise
- Avoid tanning (sunbathing, sun beds or fake tans).
- Avoid scratching or touching the treated area for 24 hours (especially with unwashed hands).
Do not:
- Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the waxed area
- Do not wear dirty and tight clothes
After the 24 hours have passed, gently exfoliate your treated area once a week to avoid ingrown hairs (not recommended to exfoliate more than 1 time each week). Moisture often for smoother and radiant skin (recommended once a day).
